Is Spray Foam Insulation Good For Soundproofing?

Life isn’t always quiet. Thankfully, spray foam insulation can effectively minimize noise and control sound coming from your office building, warehouse, restaurant, or other commercial building.

Surprised? Don’t be! The same qualities that make our spray-on foam treatments such wonderful air barriers — i.e., insulators for heat and cold — also make them excellent at sound control. These sound control solutions are unrivaled and will help keep noise at bay while simultaneously helping increase energy efficiency, structural support, and overall building comfort.

Spray Foam Soundproofing

These solutions can be used to transform your existing walls, partition walls, and interior walls into soundproof walls with high STC ratings. No matter the frequency, sounds won’t be able to penetrate walls, ceilings, and other dividers.

K-13 Thermal and Acoustical Insulation

With this insulation, we use spray foam comprised of recycled, chemically treated natural fibers. This is resistant to mildew, fire, and mold. It’s easily applied through a patented adhesive. The result is a carpet-like texture. This type of insulation is commonly used in gyms, parking garages, acoustic sound studios, or other sports facilities.

Sonaspray “FC” Acoustical Treatment

This treatment uses a spray that consists of strong adhesive and fibers. The thickness ranges from ½” to 1”. It’s one of the most effective methods of sound absorption. It can be applied in various areas and different project types, including different surface shapes, where panels or stretch fabrics are not able to reach. Spray foam easily adapts to most surfaces, so it’s common to see it used in vaults, corrugated decks, or domes where soundproofing is necessary.

URE-K

This sound insulation type is a thermal barrier. It can be applied over foam in existing commercial buildings. It can also be added as a protective coat on top of the foam for new construction projects. This product is approved by national code bodies and fire insurance companies. By filling voids in walls that lead to poor sound control with spray foam, you will be able to experience peace and quiet at a whole new level.

If you’re interested in learning more about how you can get your sound control project started, contact the below companies today for details. They can help with sound dampening and the prevention of sound transmission through layers of drywall and more.

If you have any questions about the ability of open-cell sprayed foam (or closed cell) to act as sound absorbers or sound barriers and to inhibit sound waves, reduce noise, and act as sound-deadening treatments, then give them a call! They’re excited to discuss a noise reduction plan with you and figure out the best way our insulation products can help you.

They look forward to talking to you about your options!
